Damn You IEEE

So. IEEE decided that membership renewal is to be done entirely via Internets this year. And as a "courtesy" to members who didn't feel like making web accounts (i.e. me), they made everyone who didn't have one before sometime in June temporary accounts. And then they mailed the information via USPS to said members.
Now, most of these members probably weren't expecting web account information to show up randomly in their post boxes in September, and probably threw it away (like I'm sure I must have, since I can't find it).
The problem with these temporary accounts is that they don't have security questions, the answers to which are required to retrieve *either* username or password. So here we all are, with random usernames and random passwords and no way to get at them. And we can't *make* a web account because "one already exists for this membership number". Yeah, well fuck you, too. At least we can change our usernames once we're logged in.
Sometimes engineers fail at common sense.
Ah, well. I filled out a form telling them I need this information, so maybe I'll be able to pay my dues sometime in the next month.
