A nice, friendly PSA.
Jul. 6th, 2006 02:18 amPlease remember not to fuck with other people's computers without permission. Especially when they're sleeping. There is no excuse. Not even "I was just going to...[insert harmless/necessary/whatever operation here]...it won't be a problem."
This is computer rape, and it's not okay.
So remember, folks, whether you're a giant megacorporation or just someone's roommate, get permission before messing with a computer that isn't yours. Unless you're at a lan party, and the person who owns the computer in question isn't going to murder you in your sleep for touching it.
...
...Seriously. If you feel you absolutely need to screw around with a computer that isn't yours, GET PERMISSION FIRST. It'll save both you and the owner of the computer a lot of trouble in the end. (Unless, as previously mentioned in the lan party example, trouble is exactly what you're trying for.)
