Until I came home for break, I had no idea what a "poke cake" was. The name still amuses me to no end. Maybe I am easily amused. More specifically, I learned what a "jello poke cake" was. I also learned that this was not the first time I had encountered such a cake. The cake they serve at school and call "jello cake" is really "jello poke cake". In case there are people out there who, like I did, have no clue what a "jello poke cake" is, it's when you poke holes into a cake (with a large fork or chopsticks) while it's still warm, and pour hot jello into it. After that, you chill the cake until the jello sets. That's it. Now you have "jello poke cake". Traditionally, you would frost such a cake with cool whip, but that's unnecessary. I still find it strange and amusing. If you out there believe that it is inconceivable that I did not know what a "jello poke cake" was, you may secretly laugh at me, as long as you do not say anything about it to me.

I will poke you like a cake.
