Staying in Shigaraki
Feb. 9th, 2004 08:48 pmMy home stay family has a computer! Yay! So I might actually be able to contact people every couple of days.
My homestay family also has a famicom and a super famicom. I played Super Mario 3! They were very amazed at how well I played... ^^;; I don't play *that* well...
Oh... they have a PS2 as well... and this puzzle game... IQ... I wish I knew how to play.
They also have an adorable little 1 year old daughter. She's awesome.
They were also surprised that I could read, write, and speak some Japanese. Is it really that unusual?
Oh... they don't speak much English... but that's okay. They have a special home stay phrase book, and I can speak some Japanese... so together we can communicate just fine. Besides... my host father speaks gamer... well... computer gamer anyway.
So, after one day, I have decided that my family is awesome. I really enjoy staying here. But I'm also looking forward to seeing Cornell people again. Well... specifically C&G... and it gets more specific than that.
Sadly... my host father is very not-mathematical minded... so I still feel alone in my personality. But that's okay. I will be back where being not-potter is okay again soon enough.
The C&G meeting occurs on the morning of Valentine's Day here. I will try to call... but I'm not sure how well that will work. I may not be able to find a pay phone during that time... and I feel bad using my family's phone for international calls.
Wan-wan is an interesting Japanese kids' show... it's sort of like Sesame Street... My host sister loves it.
So... yeah... my family is awesome! Yay!
