So remember that sponge? The fractal cube in the library? While playing with a program that produces colors whose wavelengths are related by Phi (the golden ratio), I discovered that the original colors I picked out, as well as the final colors used on the faces are as close to related by Phi as I could get with the colors I had available to me. Damned coincidences.
